Foul Play - Drink Edition

Paleghost and I have more Photoshop fun for you. This one requires a little bit of a backstory, though…
The theme for this week, which PG picked, was “drinks.” Now, I had a brief love affair with a soda called Ely Elixir about two years back. It was a delicious blueberry soda that I drank religiously since the only place around that stocked it was on my way to work. I decided for this week’s Foul Play image I’d do something in regards to that. However, I was surprised when I started researching Ely Elixir.
It turns out the creator of the drink, one Shane Bugbee, had a bit of a sordid history:
From City Pages
The letter [played on the local radio station] accused the Bugbees of funneling their blueberry soda profits into “devil worship” and went on to detail their connection to various suggestively named websites, including “evilnow.com,” “radiofreesatan.com,” and “whoreofhorror.com.”
Hilarious, right? Right. The article tells more about the devil-related doings that the Bugbee couple had been involved in, from an evil cookbook to a film(porno?) called The Witches Sabbath, directed (very tastefully, I’m sure) by Matt Zane, who is behind films like Co-ed Cocksuckers 23, Ass Lovers, and the much-anticipated Ass Lovers 2.
You can’t imagine how tickled I am to have stumbled upon this while researching Blueberry-fucking-Soda made in backwoods little Ely, Minnesota. This is part of the reason why this entry is late, because I then decided I had to read further into all this. Anyway, I decided to do a “Bitches Don’t Know Bout” image with Bugbee’s face, which you can see to the left and click on for the fullsize image.
And considering this guy’s supposed double-life that he tried to conceal in small-town Ely, I figured it works both ways, so there’s a second similar image this week as a bonus, or whatever.
If you want a good chuckle about this comedy of errors, you can check out the linked article from City Pages above. Also be sure to check out Paleghost’s contribution to Foul Play this week here.

nice!
But I gotta correct a couple of things…
1. the flix was made AFTER we had to leave Ely in the middle of the night.
2. I NEVER tried to conceal anything as silly as Radio Free Satan or my Serial Killer cookbook… at the time, I felt that hiding stuff like that was admitting some sort of guilt and that ain’t me.
3. I directed the film, Matt helped.
regardless… we really did like Ely and we were sad to have to leave.
thanx for the laughs! - Shane
